Freiburg (dpa/lsw) - A 50-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries during the demonstration of a historical tool at the anniversary celebration of the town of Jestetten (Waldshut district). The man was hit in the head by some kind of guide piece from a circular saw on Sunday, police said. He was flown to a hospital in a rescue helicopter.
A kind of drive belt on the historic circular saw had come loose and become entangled in the guide piece. The belt threw the part in the direction of the spectators. The 50-year-old was hit by the leading piece. The police are now investigating how the accident happened.
The saw was demonstrated as part of a celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the town of Jestetten.
