Vaihingen an der Enz (dpa / lsw) - According to initial findings, a pot with burning oil triggered a house fire in Vaihingen an der Enz (Ludwigsburg district). The fire that broke out in the kitchen on Sunday morning caused damage of around 100,000 euros, according to a police spokesman. First, a 37-year-old resident tried in vain to extinguish the fire in the kitchen. The family of three then fled outside. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the flames around noon. The house is currently not habitable.
Two adjacent houses were also affected by the fire. The roof truss of one house began to glow. In the other, shutters and windows were damaged. There was minor damage of up to 6000 euros. The buildings could then be entered again.
