Baden-Württemberg: State provides several million for start-ups

Young companies often find it difficult to raise money once they have been founded. The state helps here with appropriate support programs.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Ministry of Economic Affairs supports start-ups in early-stage financing in the current year with around seven million euros. In this way, other young companies in the state can be promoted in a targeted manner, said department head Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut (CDU) in Stuttgart. Since the introduction of the program called Pre-Seed, around 200 start-ups have received financial support between 2018 and the end of December 2022. Around 35 million euros have been made available. In addition, well over seven million euros came from private co-investors.

The special program is aimed at high-risk business start-ups and, in addition to financial support, also includes support from experts. Hoffmeister-Kraut said that the promotion of such companies had been consistently expanded in recent years. As a result, Baden-Württemberg has been significantly strengthened as a start-up and founding location.
