The district court in Emmendingen, Baden, saw it as proven on Wednesday that the 50-year-old had had a sexual relationship with a sick woman in the facility.
The man was charged with sexual abuse of the sick and those in need of help, combined with sexual abuse using a treatment relationship. The court kept the sentence below what the public prosecutor had demanded, which had called for a suspended prison sentence of one year. The defense asked for an acquittal. The defendant admitted in court that he had sexual intercourse with the woman, who was in the facility for inpatient treatment.
