Walldürn (dpa / lsw) - Ten people were slightly injured in a fire in an apartment building in Walldürn (Neckar-Odenwald district). Among them is a seven-year-old child who suffered burn injuries to his hand and mild smoke inhalation, police said early Tuesday morning. The rest of the injured suffered from smoke inhalation and shock. Paramedics took them to hospitals.
According to the information, the fire broke out on Monday evening in a basement apartment of the house. A cot caught fire there for reasons that are still unclear.
The 14 residents could not return to their apartments on Tuesday night. Because of a deflagration, the statics of the building had to be checked first, the police said. So they found somewhere else. The amount of damage was initially unclear.
