Baden-Württemberg: Vintage cars rattle through Baden-Württemberg

Sinsheim (dpa/lsw) - Around 180 vintage cars made their way across northern Baden-Württemberg on Friday to the "ADAC Heidelberg Historic" rally. The oldest vehicle is an Amilcar CGSS compressor from 1926, said a spokeswoman for ADAC Nordbaden. The start and finish for the 530-kilometer route on Friday and Saturday is the Technik Museum Sinsheim (Rhein-Neckar-Kreis). Classic car fans and interested parties can take a closer look at the models at individual stations.

Breakdown helpers were there during the rally and would have helped with one or the other minor dropout, said the spokeswoman. But there are no big problems. "The weather is ideal," she said. If the temperatures are too high in summer, the radiator of the old cars can break. The corona pandemic caused only a few cancellations.

The "Heidelberg Historic" is not the only opportunity in the Southwest to look at classic cars these days. Also since Friday, the 45th International Classic Car Meeting Baden-Baden has been inviting people to the Kurpark. All vehicles up to the year of manufacture 1975 are permitted. A jury made up of automobile designers and engineers, among others, evaluates the more than 350 vehicles. 120 prizes for categories such as condition, originality or beauty are awarded.
