Bavaria: 71-year-old dies during tree felling work

Gerhardshofen (dpa / lby) - A 71-year-old man died in Middle Franconia while felling trees. According to the police on Monday, the man worked with two companions in a forest near Gerhardshofen (Neustadt a. d. Aisch-Bad Windsheim district). When they were working on a tree with a chainsaw on Saturday, it fell over and initially got caught in another tree. Shortly thereafter, the fallen tree broke free and hit the 71-year-old in the head. The emergency doctor could only determine the death of the man. The specialist commissariat of the Ansbach criminal police has started the investigation to clarify the course of the accident.
