Seeon-Seebruck (dpa/lby) - The fire in a barn with around 110 cows in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein triggered a large number of fire brigades. Two people were injured, a police spokeswoman said on Friday. The cows were unharmed.
A patrol car that happened to be driving by, together with neighbors and fire brigades, helped to save the animals from the stable in Seeon-Seebruck. A man fell and slightly injured his foot. Another man suffered from smoke inhalation. Both were treated as outpatients.
The cause of the fire was initially unclear, it was said. The fire did not spread to the adjacent residential building, but the damage is estimated to be in the mid-six-figure range. A total of almost 200 emergency services were on site.
