Kaiserslautern (dpa / lby) - SpVgg Greuther Fürth has missed another step towards staying up in the 2nd Bundesliga. The self-sacrificing Franconians, who were outnumbered for more than 60 minutes after Simon Asta was sent off, lost 1: 3 (0: 1) at 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday. The lead by Terrence Boyd (22nd minute) was initially equalized by Kleeblatt captain Branimir Hrgota (62nd). Then Fürth ran out of breath, and Philipp Hercher (66th) and Kevin Kraus (69th) ensured the decision in favor of the hosts.
In an entertaining game, both teams tried to disrupt their opponents early on. There were hardly any longer ball possession phases, but there was unnecessary scrambling on the sidelines. Apparently unimpressed by the dismissal, the Fürth team dominated after the break and pushed for an equalizer. First Marco Meyerhöfer's (51st) header only hit the post, later Hrgota scored from close range to make it 1-1. In the middle of the Fürth urge phase, a double hit from Lauter caused the Betzenberg to tremble again. In the end, the game association lacked the strength to catch up again.
