Bavaria: Inflation rises to the highest level in more than 50 years

Fürth (dpa / lby) - Inflation in Bavaria is higher than it has been for more than 50 years. In September it was 10.8 percent compared to the same month last year, as the State Statistical Office announced on Thursday. That is 2.4 percentage points more than in August. The most important drivers of the high price increase are energy prices: light heating oil cost 122 percent more than in September 2021, household energy as a whole rose by 58 percent, fuels by 38 percent. Food prices also increased disproportionately by almost 19 percent.
