Bavaria: Kreuzer: Too few women in the party landscape

Munich (dpa / lby) - From the point of view of CSU parliamentary group leader Thomas Kreuzer, there are still too few women applying for political office. "There are simply not enough women in the party landscape," said the chairman of the CSU in the Bavarian state parliament of the Munich "Abendzeitung" (Friday edition). The CSU would like to have more women, but that cannot be decided from above. Candidates would have to make themselves available - and then it would be up to the delegates to decide.

"And, to put it bluntly: the delegates in East Allgäu don't care whether it's a woman or a man, but rather the best candidate," said Kreuzer, who will no longer vote in the state elections next year wants to compete. "It's time for a change," he said. "In the future I will work as a civil lawyer - but not 60 hours." He has many hobbies: "I'm looking forward to fishing, mountaineering, traveling and hunting. That's not possible at the moment."
