Waldkraiburg (dpa / lby) - Brave neighbors have rescued a woman from a burning apartment in the Upper Bavarian district of Mühldorf. On site they met a 77-year-old resident in a wheelchair whose clothes had already caught fire, the police reported on Wednesday. The neighbors extinguished the fire in the terraced house in Waldkraiburg with water and were able to contain the fire in the hallway of the apartment until the fire brigade arrived.
The wheelchair user suffered severe burn injuries in the incident on Tuesday and was taken to a special clinic by helicopter. According to the police, one of the helpers was treated for smoke poisoning in the hospital. The cause of fire was unclear for the moment.
