Hammelburg (dpa / lby) - In a residential complex in Hammelburg, Lower Franconia, there was a fire twice within a few days. After a fire broke out in the basement of a house last Thursday, the roof structure of a neighboring house was on fire on Tuesday, the police headquarters in Lower Franconia said. Six people - including two firefighters - were slightly injured. They suffered smoke inhalation, it was said. The Schweinfurt criminal police are investigating possible arson.
The residential complex in the district of Bad Kissingen includes three apartment buildings. The building that burned last Thursday has been uninhabitable since then. The residents were housed in other shelters. Both fires reportedly caused significant property damage. The houses are structurally connected.
