Munich (dpa / lby) - Those affected by sexual abuse want to make a pilgrimage by bike from Munich to Pope Francis in Rome in May. The Archdiocese of Munich and Freising announced on Wednesday that the aim was to create awareness of sexualized violence in the church and to initiate changes in dealing with those affected and in the processing.
Up to 15 people can take part in the pilgrimage from May 6 to 17, 2023, under the motto "We're leaving! Church, are you with us?". During this time, thematic discussions and spiritual impulses should also be offered.
Invited are primarily those affected from the Archdiocese and their families, but also others. The campaign is being organized by representatives of the Archdiocese Advisory Board for Affected People and the "We know about it" initiative, with the Archdiocese providing financial and organizational support.
