Düsseldorf (dpa/lby) - SSV Jahn Regensburg suffered the next serious bankruptcy in the 2nd Bundesliga and fell into the crisis. A week after the 6-0 debacle against Karlsruher SC, coach Mersad Selimbegovic's team also lost 4-0 (0-0) at Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday evening. After their top start, the Oberpfälzer suffered their third consecutive defeat in front of 20,745 spectators and did not score a goal.
After the home clap against KSC, Selimbegovic changed his starting lineup to two positions, Aygün Yildirim and Konrad Faber started. The Regensburg team also started powerfully, but then the Düsseldorf team picked up the pace. They also had the best chance of scoring in the first half through Felix Klaus, who was denied by goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic (44').
It was only after an hour that Daniel Ginczek (59th) scored the opening goal for the determined hosts in the Düsseldorf Arena with a right-footed shot. Six minutes later, Dawid Kownacki made it 2-0 for Fortuna with a penalty kick.
In the final phase, Klaus (78') and Shinta Appelkamp (85') increased against a sometimes chaotic Regensburg back line. Selimbegovic watched the final whistle on the sidelines with his arms crossed and his expression petrified.
