The president of the Welsh Conservatives, Boris Johnson, said that Boris Johnson's behavior was sometimes irrational.
Lord Byron Davies, an ex-MP, stated that Downing Street was dysfunctional and that Mr Johnson should be removed as soon as possible.
Lord Davies said that the Conservatives should be looking to quickly appoint a new leader.
This comes as Mr Johnson, the party leader, has resigned but said that he would continue to be prime minister until the autumn.
Lord Davies stated that the party's damage had been growing for many months, and that this week was the culmination of poor management and irrational behavior.
He said, "We are exactly where we are. We must accept it and work hard to win the next general elections. The alternative I have to offer is very poor.
"I believe we have a great manifesto to deliver, and we must get on with it."
Lord Davies was a member from South West Wales of the Welsh assembly (now known as the Welsh Parliament) and MP for Gower. He said that the prime minister should leave now.
He spoke with several MPs who were uncomfortable having him as their leader.
The peer spoke to BBC Radio Wales and stated that the "writing was on Wall" and that Boris Johnson had to go.
"I don’t believe Boris Johnson would win another electoral election. You only need to look at the results of the by-elections.
Lord Davies stated that he was still undecided about who he would like to be the next leader of his party and would wait until the right candidate came forward.
"I'm looking for leadership and someone who can manage. It is the quality of leadership and management that I believe will organize Number 10 and lead the party.
Fay Jones, Conservative MP from Brecon and Radnorshire said that the prime minister shouldn't be "hounded out of Downing Street" and should stay in office until his successor is selected.
"I believe the prime minister should leave with dignity," stated Ms Jones. She had previously announced that she would resign from her position as a Parliamentary Personal Secretary (PPS), shortly before Mr Johnson was elected party leader.
"I believe that he has led the nation really well in terms pandemic, vaccine rollout, and getting Brexit done.
She said, "He has delivered, and should leave with honor. I don't believe he should be harassed out of Downing Street."
Ms Jones stated that she didn't know what to do regarding leadership at the moment and is now "looking at all the candidates".
Plaid Cymru MP Ben Lake for Ceredigion stated that his main impression was the state of the country.
"I have no doubt that he should go. He should have gone sooner. He has left the government in a mess and rudderless.
Chris Bryant, Rhondda Labour MP, said that he considered it a disgrace and added: "I still feel very crossed, finally when the wind started changing, all those ministers suddenly decided not to pull him down when defending him.
"They are all in the game, they are complicit, he's a disgrace premier minister, and he should be gone - he hasn’t even resigned."
