Brazil Federal Police search Bolsonaro's house for falsifying his vaccination data

The Federal Police have searched the residence of the former Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, with the aim of clarifying the alleged manipulation of his vaccination data against Covid-19 through a criminal organization.

Said organization would have included false information in the Ministry of Health system in November 2021 and December 2022, to gain access to the United States for the former president, as well as several of his relatives and advisers.

"With that, these people were able to issue the respective vaccination certificates and use them to circumvent the current sanitary restrictions imposed by public authorities (Brazil and the United States) aimed at preventing the spread of contagious diseases, in this case, the Covid pandemic." , says the Federal Police in a statement.

The operation, in which the authorities comply with six arrest warrants and 16 raids in Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro, has been authorized by the Supreme Court magistrate, Alexandre de Moraes.

So far, at least five people have been detained by the authorities, including two former advisers and a member of Bolsonaro's security team.

The mobile phones of the far-right leader and his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, have been seized by the authorities during the search.

Bolsonaro traveled to the United States on December 30 of last year, before leaving office, and stayed in the country for almost three months.

The far-right leader has always been a denier of the covid-19 pandemic and while it punished his country, he repeatedly denied having been vaccinated against the virus.
