Cinema bang inevitable: DiCaprio and Scorsese dare again

In Hollywood there is a formula for success that inspires audiences and film critics alike: Directed by Martin Scorsese, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The power duo is already working on the next flick, although the most recent collaboration doesn't hit theaters until 2023.

Leonardo DiCaprio will once again appear in front of the camera for star director Martin Scorsese. The two are planning an Apple adaptation of the book The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder, according to industry magazine The Hollywood Reporter.

"The Wager" tells the story of 30 shipwrecked men who land on the coast of Brazil in January 1742. You are part of the crew of a British ship that was on a secret mission and was wrecked. At first they are celebrated as heroes, but around six months later three more men arrive on the Chilean coast. They claim that the other group are mutineers.

However, it will probably be a while before the film comes out. David Grann's book is set to be published in April 2023.

The start of "Killers of the Flower Moon", DiCaprio and Scorsese's unreleased western drama, is also not expected until next year. In it, the Hollywood star can be seen alongside colleagues such as Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons and Lily Gladstone. "Killers of the Flower Moon" is also based on a book by Grann. Scorsese and DiCaprio previously worked together on several films, including 2013's The Wolf of Wall Street and 2010's Shutter Island.

DiCaprio recently exchanged blows with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. In a series of posts on Twitter, the actor spoke about the ecological importance of the Amazon rainforest and its destruction. The environmentalist also called on the Brazilian population to go to the polls. An affront for Bolsonaro, who pursues a completely different policy. He replied that DiCaprio should shut up instead of talking nonsense.
