The Prosecutor's Office has requested a total of 110 years in prison for a practice monitor at a summer camp located in the north of the province of Cáceres accused of allegedly abusing 13 minors between the ages of 13 and 15 by touching them obscenely while they were performing sports activities in August 2021.
According to the complaints, the defendant made obscene touching with the minors, talked to them about having sex and touched them in a lewd way when carrying out camp activities, such as canoeing.
The monitor is accused of 13 continuous crimes of sexual assault on minors and another 13 against sexual freedom. For each of the 13 continuous crimes of sexual assault, the Public Ministry requests five years and six months in prison (71 years). For crimes against sexual freedom, three years in prison for each one (36 years). In any case, according to the Prosecutor's Office, if convicted, article 76 of the Penal Code would apply, which establishes a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
In the same way, the prosecutor requests compensation of 10,000 euros for each of the victims and 20,000 euros to another monitor for moral damages and physical damages.
In addition, the Public Ministry requests the removal of the defendant from the minors by more than 500 meters for 23 years and six months, and his disqualification from any profession or activity in direct contact with minors for a period of more than 5 years after the sentence. imprisonment imposed, as well as probation for 10 years. The trial has been set for next Tuesday, April 11 at the Provincial Court of Cáceres.
In similar events, the Supreme Court confirmed the sentence to 136 years in prison for a monitor (21 years old) and a director of children's camps (29) held in Cáceres and León, respectively, in July 2011 and 2012 for sexually abusing 16 children under 13 when they were asleep and record them.
At the same time, last June, the Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla y León confirmed the sentence of the Provincial Court of Valladolid that sentenced a monitor of summer camps held in Hornillos de Eresma for sexual abuse of minors under 16 years of age to a sentence of 37 years and nine days in prison.
