Education Aid of 400 euros for students: how to apply and requirements

Until next May 17, you can apply for general government grants and scholarships for both university students and Baccalaureate and Vocational Training students.

The budget for the 2023-2024 academic year is 2,500 million euros and includes the new complementary subsidy of 400 euros.

This is a special aid intended for those people who present a specific need to receive educational support derived from any of the following situations:

This complementary aid of 400 euros to the rest of the scholarships may be accessed by students of non-university educational levels who prove a disability of at least 33%, severe conduct disorder, communication/language or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or high capacities to cover the additional expenses that their families must face.

In total, the Government estimates that some 240,000 students throughout the national territory will benefit.

The call to request the complementary aid of 400 euros is not yet open.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, it was published on May 18, 2022, and the deadline to request the aid was from May 19 to September 30, 2022. Similar dates are expected this year.

The Ministry advises not to leave the application for these scholarships until the last day because the public entity may need more information than that provided in the initial documentation.

On the other hand, it will be in the last quarter of the year when the applicants will know if they meet the conditions and, if so, they will receive the full scholarship of 400 euros.

The application process for the 400-euro scholarship is carried out through the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Education like the rest of the aid for students.

Applicants may check the status of their application at the electronic headquarters of the Ministry, in the "My files" section.

In the event that the documentation is incomplete or there is no response within the term, applicants for the aid may contact the scholarship unit of the corresponding educational administration or university, identifying themselves in the file with their NIF/NIE.
