The constitutionalist entity Hablamos Español has denounced the Generalitat's plan for 80% Catalan to be spoken in schools in Catalonia in five years. "The educational administration, which boasts of failing to comply with court rulings to eliminate the use of Spanish in teaching, has shown itself determined to complete its language change project in Catalan society, influencing the leisure time of students in centers teaching with more or less openly coercive and restrictive measures, and placing special emphasis on areas of expression where they are free, patio, family or social networks. This is how they want to reach 80% of Catalan-speaking young people in 2028", denounced its president , Glory Lake.
The president of Hablamos Español continued: "Secondly, teachers who are supportive of the cause have played their role, who have supported the counseling guidelines. The rest, the assistant teachers, immersed or trapped in this toxic system, which puts the education and individual freedom at the service of the so-called linguistic normalization and that it is nothing more than a delirious project of social engineering, through which the public powers, with the support of civil organizations, conveniently and abundantly irrigated with public money, meddle in areas of the lives of citizens that, in a truly democratic regime, are closed to them".
"Can you imagine what would happen if, for example, the public powers tried to adopt measures so that citizens would practice a certain religion more and more, especially given the evidence that, spontaneously and in exercise of their freedom, it was practiced less by citizens? Spanish society must react to this type of outrage. We cannot allow minors to be taken as linguistic hostages by the public powers in the most shameless manner", Lago claimed.
