Moroccan Army units in collaboration with local authorities intercepted a total of 1,110 emigrants who wanted to cross into Spain, in several operations carried out in the northern towns of M'diq and Fnideq and Nador, close to the Spanish cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
These operations were carried out on the night of Sunday to Monday by members of the Army, local authorities and Law Enforcement Forces, in which they intercepted and removed groups of emigrants from these areas near Spanish cities, according to a statement from the State. Major General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
The same source detailed that in Nador, Moroccan Army units intercepted a total of 175 emigrants of different nationalities (Algerians, Moroccans, Tunisians and Yemenis).
In addition, these FAR units, together with local authorities, detained and removed in several operations in Nador, in the northeast of the country near Melilla, and in M'diq (Rincón) and Fnideq (Castillejos), near Ceuta, to a total of 935 emigrants who were preparing to leave Morocco for Spain.
