Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) - A 35-year-old man was hit by a train near Darmstadt and seriously injured. The man was thrown next to the tracks by the collision on Sunday morning and suffered a broken leg, as the federal police in Frankfurt announced on Monday. A jogger found the 35-year-old in a field next to the tracks.
The injured man was responsive and said he missed the train as he was about to cross the tracks, sources said. When exactly the accident happened and why he wanted to walk across the tracks, he was no longer able to say. He was taken to a clinic in Darmstadt for treatment of his serious leg injury.
