Hesse: 55-year-old is said to have blackmailed a police officer with videos

Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) - Starting at 10 a.m. today, the Darmstadt Regional Court is hearing the appeal of a 55-year-old who was sentenced to eight months' imprisonment on probation in 2021 for extorting a police officer. The man had blackmailed the officer, who was his ex-girlfriend, for 15,000 euros with intimate photos and videos, according to the district court ruling. According to his defense attorney, the convict had not been able to cope with the separation. In his plea to the District Court, the defense attorney admitted to his client's extortion. One day of hearing is scheduled for the appeal.
