Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - A 91-year-old driver was fatally injured in a traffic accident on the B 417 on Friday morning. According to the police, the man had gotten into oncoming traffic between the outskirts of Wiesbaden and the exit for fish farming for reasons that are still unknown. There he collided with an oncoming vehicle, was trapped in his car and died at the scene of the accident. The 35-year-old driver of the second car was also trapped and had to be freed by the fire department. She was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The public prosecutor's office has requested an expert to clarify the exact accident events. The main road was completely blocked in the area of the accident site until late afternoon.
