Fulda (dpa/lhe) - In the diocese of Fulda, more people were affected by sexualized violence between 2000 and 2015 than previously known. The independent commission for the processing of sexualized violence viewed 795 personnel files with 111 victims and 34 perpetrators, the committee announced on Tuesday evening. Most recently, there was talk of 89 people affected for the diocese of Fulda. The higher number resulted from the intensive study of the Commission's files, it said.
The commission includes several lawyers, a social worker and a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Two members of the joint advisory board for those affected by the diocese of Fulda and Limburg were also won over to the committee. The spokesman for the three-person board is the former mayor of Fulda, Gerhard Möller. The commission aims to hear those affected and contemporary witnesses and to view and process files.
