Hesse: After finding a dead man: suspect in custody

Petersberg (dpa / lhe) - After a dead man was found in Petersberg, the suspect was taken into custody. The autopsy showed that the 39-year-old died of a large number of knife wounds, which were mainly found on the neck and upper body of the corpse, the police said on Friday. The 21-year-old suspect with Bulgarian nationality was then brought before the magistrate at the Fulda district court on Thursday, who ordered remand custody.

So far, however, the murder weapon has not been found. That's why the investigators want to use a sniffer dog to search the area around the crime scene and the man's escape route to the place of arrest again during the course of the day. The background and the motive are still unclear, said a spokeswoman for the Fulda public prosecutor's office, and the investigation is ongoing. Witnesses would continue to be asked for information.

The 39-year-old victim, who also came from Bulgaria, was found on the outside staircase of a residential accommodation for temporary workers on Wednesday night. Despite immediately initiated resuscitation, the rescue service could only determine the death of the man. A short time later, the 21-year-old was arrested in Petersberg, who was to be brought before the magistrate on suspicion of manslaughter.
