Hesse: Again pleas in the process of thirsty boy

Darmstadt/Rüsselsheim (dpa/lhe) - In the murder trial of a neglected child, the pleas are expected again today in Darmstadt. The district court process is about a woman from Rüsselsheim who confessed that, according to the indictment, her 13-month-old son died of thirst and starved in October 2021. The public prosecutor's office assessed the act as murder in a state of significantly reduced criminal responsibility.

According to two expert opinions, the 27-year-old accused had a mental disorder at the time of the crime and was of limited criminal responsibility. One report names an identity disorder as the main reason why the Portuguese no longer took care of her child, the other report sees depression as the main reason. The first pleadings were made in the process in June, but then the Chamber commissioned the second report.
