Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - Because she brought around 700 grams of almost pure cocaine to Germany hidden in a music box, a woman was sentenced to three years and four months in prison by the Frankfurt Regional Court on Wednesday. The 22-year-old flew to Frankfurt from Colombia in May this year, from where the journey was to continue to Spain. When X-raying her hand luggage, the drug was discovered in the music box and in the battery of her mobile phone.
The woman made a full confession in court. In her homeland she was responsible for the financial support of her nine siblings and was therefore in great financial need. Her client promised her a courier wage of 3,000 euros. The court assessed the extremely high active ingredient content of the drugs of almost 100 percent as aggravating the punishment. The judgment is already final.
