Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The investigative committee of the Wiesbaden state parliament into the murder of the Kassel district president Walter Lübcke will also question the former co-defendant Markus H. in its next meeting this Wednesday (from 9.30 a.m.). Topics include threats against Lübcke, the armament and any references to the right-wing extremist terrorist cell NSU. H. was accused of being an accessory in the murder trial and was acquitted. In addition, one of the former presidents and two employees of the Hessian Office for the Protection of the Constitution are to be heard on Wednesday.
Lübcke murderer Stephan Ernst, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, exercised his right to refuse to testify at his hearing about a month ago. He shot the district president in June 2019 for right-wing extremist motives. The committee of inquiry was set up in 2020. His task is to work through the role of the Hessian security authorities in the murder case and possible mistakes.
