Hesse: Wagner warns of party disputes in refugee aid

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Greens parliamentary group leader Mathias Wagner warns against making the discussion about the admission and accommodation of refugees in Hesse a political dispute. On Monday in Wiesbaden, Wagner expressed concern that the issue would be discussed more about the problems and not about the solutions. For the Greens it is clear that the refugees with a right of residence should be integrated as quickly as possible. Refugees with no prospects of staying, on the other hand, would have to be returned to their countries of origin.

At the most recent session of the Hessian state parliament, there was a heated argument about the financing of refugee aid. Representatives of the opposition accused the state government of not passing on all federal funds for the care of refugees to the municipalities. The criticism had been clearly rejected by the black-green state government. Minister of Social Affairs Kai Klose (Greens) emphasized on Monday that there are regular consultations with the municipalities.
