Hollywood Heights actor Cody Longo dies aged 34

Cody Longo achieved international fame with his role in "Fame" and several appearances in series such as "CSI". The US actor died unexpectedly at the age of 34 – the cause of death is unclear. The family responded with heartbreaking words.

Cody Longo has died. The US actor was found dead in the bedroom of his Austin, Texas, home on Wednesday, CNN reports, citing spokesman Alex Gittelson. Longo was only 34 years old.

"Cody was our whole world," his wife Stephanie said in a statement. "The kids and I are devastated and beyond devastated. He was the best dad. We will always and forever miss you and love you." So far, nothing has been announced about the cause of death of the actor, who is survived by his wife and three children. An alcohol relapse may have been partly responsible, some media sources quote voices from his environment.

Longo began his acting career in 2008 in the role of Dave in Ball Don't Lie. He gained further fame through his roles in the musical film "Fame" and in the series "Hollywood Heights". He also starred in the US soap opera "Days of Our Lives". He also appeared in many other formats such as "CSI: On the Trail of the Criminals".

Longo was arrested in November 2020 on charges of domestic violence. However, the actor was released on bail shortly thereafter. The TV star recently took a break from acting to pursue his music career and spend more time with his family, according to CNN. But he was looking forward to returning to acting this year, Gittelson said, according to the report.
