A dog named Peggy, a cross between a pug and a Chinese crested, was recently named the ugliest dog in the UK in a contest organized by photo printing company Parrot Print.

This dog, who is about four years old, lives with his owner, Holly Middleton, in East Yorkshire, according to the BBC. Middleton assures the network that she is aware that some people refer to Peggy as "ugly", but that she is not offended since, to her, she is "beautiful inside and out, and I wouldn't trade her for the world." .

Matt Dahan, the founder of Parrot Print -organizer of the event- assures that when the company launched the call for the contest "they never thought they would find a dog like Peggy, who can be ugly and beautiful at the same time". He also highlights the love that his family feels for the animal.

And it is that Peggy is a rescued dog in 2018. His owner, Holly Middleton, adopted him when he was just a few months old. He was the last pup left to adopt from a litter born by accident. "We loved her the minute we saw her with her big brown eyes, her little lock of white hair and her tongue lolling out to the side of her," she told the BBC.
