The Israeli army claimed, Thursday, October 12, to have hit the Gaza Strip with 6,000 bombs and 4,000 tons of explosives since the start of Israel's response to the attack launched on Saturday by Hamas, according to a press release of the IDF.

It also announced on Tuesday that it had regained control of its border with the Gaza Strip, the mobilization of 300,000 reservists, an unprecedented figure, as well as the establishment of a total blockade of Gaza. A sign that it could prepare a ground assault in response to the devastating attack perpetrated on Saturday October 7.

The surprise attack, launched on Saturday at dawn by the Islamist movement, left more than a thousand dead on both camps. Israeli nationals, civilians and military, were kidnapped by Palestinian fighters.
