Ligue 1: Marseille relieves itself, Monaco gets stuck in Troyes

Olympique de Marseille rallied after their slap against Annecy and regained a lead for second place in Ligue 1 by winning at Rennes (1-0), taking advantage of Monaco's slowdown at Troyes (2- 2), Sunday for the 26th day of Ligue 1. This victory does not erase the nightmare of elimination in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France against a Ligue 2 team (2-2, 7 tab to 6), but at least OM are four steps ahead of Monaco (3rd) and Lens (4th), held in check by Lille (1-1) in the North derby on Saturday.

Lyon is still far from getting involved in the fight for Europe. OL (10th) experienced further disappointment when they were held to a draw at home by Lorient (0-0) and found themselves seven points behind Stade Rennais. In the race to maintain, the bargains are for Brest, winner in Strasbourg (1-0) of a relegation duel, and Montpellier, which smashed Angers (5-0) with a double from its captain Téji Savanier. The Bretons come out of the relegation zone thanks to a goal from Franck Honorat just before the break (45 1).
