"Love for him was never extinguished": Nick Carter reports after his brother's death

Aaron Carter's unexpected death sparks a wave of grief. Now his brother Nick is speaking for the first time.

After the death of US singer Aaron Carter, his brother Nick spoke up for the first time. In a post on Instagram, the "Backstreet Boys" member mourns the loss of his little brother. "Today my heart is broken," wrote the 42-year-old. "Even though my brother and I had a complicated relationship, my love for him never ended."

He always clung to the hope that one day Aaron would "somehow find a healthy path and eventually find the help he so desperately needed." "Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is, addiction and mental illness are the real scourges here."

Carter wrote that he will miss his brother more than anyone else. "I love you "Chizz", now is your chance to finally find peace that you could never find here on earth.... God please take care of my little brother."

Aaron Carter was found dead at his home in California on Saturday. The former child star was 34 years old. Numerous celebrities had already mourned the singer publicly, and initially there were no statements from Nick and the other members of the Backstreet Boys. At the beginning of Aaron Carter's career, the then nine-year-old toured the world with the boy band.

Recently, however, the world-famous teen star has been talking about bad news. The two brothers Nick and Aaron quarreled publicly – and made bad allegations. In 2019, Nick claimed his younger brother made threats against the family. Aaron was also at odds with his twin sister Angel – after all, Nick and Angel applied for a ban on contact.

Aaron Carter has recently spoken publicly about his drug past. Around three years ago, he said he was taking multiple medications to help manage his mental health issues.
