Mannheim: child is hit by car and injured

An eleven-year-old child was hit by a car in Mannheim and seriously injured. The child was about to cross a street on Saturday when the car hit him, police said in the evening. According to the first findings of the police, the pedestrian traffic light showed red, so the 21-year-old driver had green. The 11-year-old was taken to hospital in an ambulance. The accident resulted in property damage of around 2,000 euros.
