Rostock (dpa/mv) - According to its own statements, the Rostock-based Sear Group, which specializes in energy and industrial technology, is starting the year 2023 with new major orders worth more than 80 million euros the company on Wednesday in Rostock.

The Sear Group employs more than 300 people at its four locations in Germany and one branch in Poland and generated sales of around 45 million euros in the past financial year. For 2021, the company had announced sales of around 50 million euros.

One focus of the Sear Group is the expansion of transmission capacities for wind power from northern Germany to southern Germany. In connection with the expansion of a high-voltage direct current transmission station (HVDC) in Philippsburg (Baden-Württemberg), the Rostock-based company is not only installing the HVDC technology, but also the installation of the outdoor switchgear and the protection and control technology.

"This order not only brings us a volume in the lower double-digit million range. With our work, we are also helping to ensure that higher capacities of wind power reach the south and that the security of supply within Germany remains at a high level," said the Managing Director of the Sear Group , Alexander Ciupka.
