Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - A worker from a power supply company was seriously injured in an accident at work in Neubrandenburg on Thursday. As a police spokeswoman said, the 19-year-old was trapped by a transformer weighing around 1,000 kilograms. The workers were working in the morning because of an accident on the street in the city of Datzeberg when the transformer suddenly lowered onto the man. The reason for this was still unclear according to the police.
Colleagues were able to free the casualty, and rescue workers took the man to a clinic by helicopter. The criminal police and the State Office for Health and Social Affairs have started investigations into the cause of the accident.
