Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 22 hemp plants grown on neglected property

Loitz (dpa / mv) - Police officers have discovered around two dozen hemp plants on a garden plot in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. A 44-year-old who lived in a tent on the neglected property in Loitz is said to have grown it there, the police said on Sunday. The man had previously attracted attention several times on Saturday evening because he entered a lane while drunk and obstructed traffic. Because a dog was in poor condition with him, the officers wanted to check the man's living conditions. The 22 hemp plants found were then secured and the dog was taken to an animal shelter. The man is being charged with violating the Narcotics Act.
