Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Baltic Coast Cycle Route: renewed section inaugurated in MV

Neuenkirchen (dpa/mv) - A renewed section of the Baltic Sea Cycle Route was inaugurated in the Landhagen office (Vorpommern-Greifswald district) on Thursday. According to the district administration, construction work on the 1825 meter long and 2.50 meter wide section lasted from June 2020 to October 2022.

The total cost was three million euros. A roundabout was also created in connection with the cycle path. "The Baltic Coast Cycle Route is one of the busiest cycle routes in Germany. I am pleased that an important part could be released today," said District Administrator Michael Sack.

The cycle path leads over a total length of almost 8000 kilometers around the Baltic Sea. The German section between Flensburg and the island of Usedom is a little over 1000 kilometers long.
