Wismar/Groß Strömkendorf (dpa/mv) - After the fire in a refugee accommodation in Groß Strömkendorf (Northwest Mecklenburg district), donations are to be collected with a benefit concert on November 2 in Wismar. The proceeds from the concert of the State Police Orchestra in the Holy Spirit Church in Wismar go to the Christian Aid Association of the city, the district of Northwest Mecklenburg announced on Wednesday. Donation boxes will be set up on site. There is also the option of donating via PayPal using a QR code.
On Wednesday evening last week, the refugee accommodation went up in flames for reasons unknown and burned to the ground. The 14 refugees from Ukraine who were housed in the building at the time were not injured. State security is investigating the previously unconfirmed suspicion of a politically motivated crime.
