Sralsund (dpa / mv) - A car owner put a car thief on the run in Stralsund during the night and thus got his SUV back. As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, shortly after midnight, Stralsund saw a thief drive away in his SUV worth 60,000 euros. The 43-year-old was woken up by the noise of the SUV's engine. He called the police and followed them in a second car so that he could catch the thief in the city area. He abandoned the stolen car and fled on foot.
The police searched for the car thief with five patrol cars, initially without success, as it was said on Tuesday morning. The fugitive was described as about 1.75 meters tall, thin and dressed in dark clothing.
