Güstrow (dpa/mv) - The "old school" in Teterow, which has been used for Ukrainian war refugees since the summer of 2022, will become regular communal accommodation in the next three years. The district council of the district of Rostock approved a corresponding usage agreement in Güstrow on Wednesday evening. The "Old School" has a capacity of 220 places, of which 196 were occupied as of February 10th.
With the contract and the conversion, refugees from other countries of origin should also be able to be accommodated there. "Due to the current allocation of asylum seekers and the existing need to continue to accommodate Ukrainian war refugees, it is intended to rent the property for a fixed period of three years with a subsequent extension option," the statement said.
