The 0:1 against Sandhausen is Hansa Rostock's third home bankruptcy in a row without having scored a goal. The distance to the relegation places remains narrow.

Coach Jens Härtel's team conceded their third home bankruptcy in a row on Friday evening with a 0-1 (0-1) loss against SV Sandhausen and missed the opportunity to increase the distance to the bottom of the 2nd Bundesliga table. "We're incredibly disappointed. We should have taken the lead, but we're behind at the break. We've invested a lot and got zero returns," said the Hansa coach.
Christian Kinsombi (45th minute) scored the goal in front of 24,000 spectators in the Ostseestadion for the guests, who improved to 13th place in the table with their first away win of the season.
In front of a magnificent backdrop, the home side, who started with the best players, could have taken the lead early on. However, a header from centre-forward John Verhoek from a corner by Svante Ingelsson flew just over the bar in the fifth minute.
To the chagrin of the supporters, that remained the only high point in the Hanseatic League's pompous attacking game for a long time. The visitors had even more of the game and some good chances to score. It was only after a good half hour that the hosts found ways and means to put pressure on the compact Kurpfälzer. Defender Nico Neidhart had the best opportunity but hit the right post in the 35th minute.
A textbook counterattack then helped Sandhausen to a well-deserved half-time lead. Christian Kinsombi netted after a pass from his brother David. Hansa's goalkeeper Markus Kolke had no defense.
Verhoek gave Rostock's first signal of caution a good five minutes after the restart when he was pushed aside at the last moment. Rather, however, did not materialize as a result. Hansa visibly struggled, but kept getting stuck in the defensive bulwark of the guests.
