Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: SSC coach after home defeat: "Get homework"

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Felix Koslowski would not have had much time to celebrate his service anniversary at SSC Palmberg Schwerin anyway. The fact that his 500th game as coach of the volleyball team ended with a 1:3 defeat in the Bundesliga duel against Dresdner SC on Saturday evening spoiled the mood of the 38-year-old a little. "We were all aware that Dresden is coming here and has nothing to lose, will hit the balls like crazy. And they did that," said the coach after his team's first home defeat of the season.

The first two sets, which were lost at 16:25 and 18:25, were sobering. Koslowski then spoke of problems in acceptance and difficulties in finding solutions in attack. "Dresden put a lot of pressure on serve, incredibly fought in block and defence."

Schwerin only found his game from the third round and subsequently had opportunities to at least reach the tie-break. "With the 1: 2 we come close again and we also have opportunities in the fourth set, we are a long way off and then simply not consistent enough," stated Koslowski and added: "Dresden was consistent in return and took advantage of these opportunities. That was the difference in the end. We have to learn to deal with that better."

The beginning of the week will be shaped accordingly before the team sets out for the second leg of the CEV Cup in Serbia on Wednesday (7:00 p.m.). "I already have a few things in mind that we can look at on Monday. I think we got some homework from Dresden today," emphasized the coach.
