Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: traded in counterfeit goods: investigations against couple

Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - Police and public prosecutors are investigating a couple from Neubrandenburg for months of fraud with counterfeit luxury and branded products. As a police spokeswoman said on Friday, it is a 36-year-old from Neubrandenburg and his 30-year-old partner. From December 2019 to July 2021, they are said to have sold counterfeit luxury bags and glasses as well as counterfeit gold and silver coins and counterfeit gold and silver bars. According to previous investigations, damage of at least 170,000 euros was incurred.

In connection with this, a few days ago there was also a search of the Neubrandenburg resident's apartment in an apartment building, to which officers of the special task force had also been requested to be on the safe side.

Valuables and goods were confiscated, among other things to compensate for the financial loss of around 170,000 euros that has arisen so far, which is legally referred to as an asset arrest. Small amounts of drugs were also seized. It is still unclear where the couple got the fakes from. The investigations were still ongoing.
