"Today another mother was murdered without knowing the whereabouts of her son," the group said in a statement published on social networks.
"We condemn her cowardly murder and we demand that the authorities immediately investigate those responsible for this terrible act. We also ask that they guarantee reparation measures for her family and non-repetition mechanisms, because in Guanajuato the women we are looking for are not safe , they kill us in the light of day in public spaces and total impunity," the statement added.
According to the first investigations, the attack occurred on the outskirts of a kindergarten in the San Miguel Octopan community and occurred at 11:00 a.m. local time (5:00 p.m. GMT), when Magueyal was located next to the school with the same name.
The woman was a member of the group that mourned her death and joined after the disappearance of her son José Luis Apaseo Magueyal, who was last seen on April 6, 2020, precisely in San Miguel Octopan.
