"No one can replace you": Lombardi celebrates Bohlen's comeback on "DSDS"

After "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" flopped with Florian Silbereisen, pop titan Dieter Bohlen returns to the jury for the last season. Pietro Lombardi is happy "that Dieter has the honor again" and can also imagine a jury comeback.

Singer Pietro Lombardi thinks it's a shame that the upcoming season of the RTL casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" should be the last. "I'm an old "DSDS" child and I'm sad that it's coming to an end," said the winner from 2011. "But I'm definitely happy that Dieter has the honor again and is on the jury. I'm happy for him." RTL recently announced that it would bring back jury veteran Bohlen for the final broadcasts in 2023 - after not having previously extended his contract.

Bohlen himself said about his comeback: "The decision with RTL: there are people who would have paid more, let me put it that way. It was a heart decision, it was a purely emotional decision. I wanted my team, I want these people ." There would have been other people standing around somewhere else. "Everyone here is motivated to the max."

Before returning to "Deutschland sucht den Superstar", the "pop titan" claimed that he had not watched the season without himself - but with Florian Silbereisen as the senior juror. "I didn't look for a second," said the 68-year-old in the RTL star magazine broadcast on Sunday evening.

Did it hurt him too much? Interviewer Frauke Ludowig asked the pop producer in Mallorca. "Yes. That just hurts. I'm being honest about that. And a show like that that you've been doing for 18 years, I'd rather not watch it."

To encourage Bohlen, Lombardi posted an emotional photo on Instagram with the caption: "No one can replace you". The ten-year-old picture shows Lombardi in his own "DSDS" participation together with Bohlen.

Can Lombardi, who was also on the jury in 2019 and 2020, imagine returning? "Anything is possible," said the 30-year-old succinctly. With the "Lombardi Show", however, the singer should soon have his own talent show. He is looking for a singing or rap talent for his first own label. It is not yet known when the RTL format will start. The musician released his new single "Ciao Bella" this Friday.
