Gummersbach (dpa / lnw) - In Gummersbach, a 28-year-old attacked his mother. She fled and jumped from the balcony, after which the man continued to hit his seriously injured mother, the police said on Saturday.
The man, who, according to the police, is "mentally abnormal" is said to have broken into his mother's house on Friday afternoon and attacked her with an initially unknown object. When jumping from the balcony, the 55-year-old suffered several broken bones. However, her son followed her to the street to kick and beat her.
Only the police forces, presumably alerted by neighbors, were able to stop the man and arrested him. Rescue workers took the seriously injured mother to a hospital. A homicide commission is now investigating the background to the crime.
